March 24th is American Diabetes Alert Day, an official “wake-up call” to inform the American public about the seriousness of diabetes. One in five Americans is at risk for developing type 2 diabetes.
Beware the Precursor to Diabetes

Nearly 57 million Americans have pre-diabetes, which is a condition that occurs when blood glucose levels are higher than normal but not high enough for a diagnosis of diabetes. Pre-diabetes is a precursor to diabetes; without intervention and appropriate treatment, people with pre-diabetes are at risk for developing Type 2 Diabetes within three to 10 years.
